every woman on tumblr should have this on their dash

And every man

Look how nobody’s yelling or arguing or making things into a competition. Look how this is to straight up educate people through a different perspective. Look how effective that makes the message.

Darren Hunt of Utah

The murder of young Black Men by police continues.

oh for fucks SAKE

Y’all he was shot in the back…. HE WAS SHOT IN THE BACK…

http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/news/58409680-78/family-hunt-moss-police.html.csp

He was carrying a sword? This mf in my geography class carried a sword to class everyday and when I expressed my discomfort it was dismissed. But this brotha was shot in the back.

and it was a blunted sword.. couldn’t have cut anybody… but white people walking around with loaded rifles in target…

Exactly! This is evil.

Damn. Niggas can’t even cosplay anymore? I would love to see the cosplay community say something about this but that definitely won’t happen

Also: this paper is edited by a clown. It should’ve been in the first fucking paragraph that this dude was cosplaying. I’m reading this shit wondering why the fuck this negro is walking down the street with a sword and obvious answer is hidden almost at the en of the article.

This dude was cosplaying.

He was dressed up in a costume.

Should all black people just stay home on Halloween this year?

Friendly reminder that the police shot a black cosplayer in the back

:/

Anonymous asked: I see you believe HIV was created in a lab, sorry to burst your bubble, but back then we didn't have the knowledge of DNA so we couldn't have made the virus, without the education of DNA. By that time we barely learned that DNA was important.

ummmm, my bubble is still a shimmering orb of excellence.

Back when? How far is back then?

Polio vaccines were nearing completion in the early 1950’s.

DNA was beginning to be understood in the 1950’s.

It was during these times Africans served as guinea pigs for western scientist to use as test subjects for these vaccines.

This was ground zero for the adverse effects of these failed vaccines; where they studied how some experimental pseudo-medicinal cocktails could break down the human immune system.

Then decades later in the mid to late 70’s and early 80’s we see the emergence of HIV in the same African regions.

Miss me with that lame ish, #istaywoke

do you ever think that oliver wood was created for the sole purpose of innuendo

yes

even his name is an innuendo

It gets even better when you realize the actor’s name was Sean Biggerstaff.

Heroes — a Collaboration with artist Julio Salgado

I was honored when undocuqueer artivist Julio Salgado emailed me about wanting to collaborate on a project about my biggest influences. He drew portraits of me embracing my heroes, and I provided words about their significance in my life.

These images moved me to tears, and I am grateful to Julio for creating them with me.

AUDRE LORDE

Audre Lorde was the first black lesbian feminist writer I was exposed to in college, and she blew my world up. Her body of work, from her poetry to her prose, pushed me to transform silence and define myself.

MAYA ANGELOU

I first read “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings” in the 10th grade, and Maya Angelou pushed me to make freedom my lifelong quest. She wrote about being a black girl who was touched without permission and protection, and it emboldened me to share my most uncomfortable truths.

SYLVIA RIVERA

Our elders are our greatest untapped resource, and Sylvia is my blueprint. Without the work and legacies of my foremothers (including Marsha P. Johnson and Miss Major Griffin-Gracy!) I could not and would not be able to thrive as a young trans woman writer of color.

ZORA NEALE HURSTON

Without Zora Neale Hurston’s “Their Eyes Were Watching God” there would be no “Redefining Realness.” Zora was a revolutionary woman and writer. She centered a black woman’s quest for identity and love, making Janie Crawford my No. 1 heroine. This book is a lifemap!

JAMES BALDWIN

I adore no man more than James Baldwin. I’ve devoured all his writings and find myself seeking his guidance by watching footage of his interviews. There is no better orator and thinker than Baldwin. He slays, all day, every day.
